Train to deliver STEPPS for
Borderline Personality Disorder

What is STEPPS?

STEPPS is a cost effective, evidence based group intervention based on CBT principles for people with emotional difficulties (often labelled as Borderline personality Disorder/Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder). STEPPS helps people to:

  • Manage intense emotions

  • Change unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving

  • Make positive changes

  • Feel more hopeful

Course Information

The course is held over two days.

STEPPS Awareness Training (half day) - £60.00

Suitable for managers and team leaders who want background information about STEPPS or who are looking to support the implementation of STEPPS within their service. This half day will provide all the background information needed, including evidence and set-up requirements.

Reinforcer Training (two days) - £250.00

The two day training programme will provide training for Reinforcers to support the Full Facilitator to deliver groups. Reinforcers do not receive a manual and will be provided with a briefer version of the course content

Full Facilitator Training (two days) - £350.00

The two day training programme provides specific STEPPS training for clinical staff who will then be able to deliver groups. Facilitators should have basic knowledge of CBT and some familiarity with running groups of a psycho-educational nature. Includes STEPPS manual and CD.

Course Material

Full Facilitators will receive a manual for their specific area, the manuals are:

STEPPS: The standard 20 week group programme
STEPPS-EI: A 13 week version for people within a Primary Care setting
STEPPS-EI-YP: An 18 week version for young people aged between 16 and 18, includes a parallel group for parents/carers
