BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. We have over 8,500 members - including nurses, counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists and other health professionals as well as students and trainees.

BABCP is the only organisation which accredits CBT therapists. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT.

Membership makes you part of the CBT community - whether you are a CBT user, a therapist or interested in mental health issues.

Subscription Rates

Direct Debit payments can only be made from a UK bank account.

BABCP annual membership runs for one year from the date that your application is processed. Renewal is from the first day of the following month and is automatic for those paying by direct debit, unless notification of cancellation is received at least four working days before the renewal date.

If you are paying by direct debit, you also have the option of paying by 12 monthly instalments provided that: (1) a valid DD Instruction is held by BABCP throughout the year and (2) the option is taken for the whole year. Monthly payments include an interest charge of 5% (APR 9.15%)

Please note: you must be a student for the first 3 months of your membership to be eligible for the reduced student rate. You will be required to supply evidence of student status to the BABCP office

In the U.K., the Inland Revenue has agreed that subscriptions are allowable against income on tax returns. You can claim back the tax through your tax return OR you can take advantage of the Gift Aid Scheme to BABCP as a registered charity. BABCP can reclaim your tax on your behalf for the Research Fund.
