Recognising and promoting diversity in CBT research, practice and training

Aims

To promote equality, cultural competence and diversity in CBT practice, training and research.

  • Provide an open forum where issues of equality, cultural competence and diversity can be discussed and explored.

  • Organise training focused on increasing therapists confidence and raising standards of delivering culturally competent CBT.

  • Support BABCP members to develop and share:

    • best practice for working with service users from different cultural

    • or social backgrounds development of CBT practice and training in Low

    • and Middle Income Countries development of cross-cultural models of

    • CBT practice and training

  • Increase understanding of the barriers to services and promote equal access
