The BABCP has today announced the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Tommy McIlravey.
Tommy has extensive experience as a charity CEO, most recently at Lancashire Mind, as well as two decades' experience as a charity trustee and non-executive director. He has led strategy development at a number of organisations, including consultancy work through the King's Fund and Cranfield Trust.
BABCP President Saiqa Naz says: "I am pleased to welcome Tommy to the Association. Tommy is a proven leader demonstrating a track record of strategic development in the charity sector. We are excited to work with Tommy to ensure that BABCP remains the lead organisation for CBT in the UK and Ireland, and that we continue developing to meet the needs of our members and the wider CBT community, as well as continued protection for vulnerable members in our society.
"The BABCP Board firmly believes that Tommy's combination of skills and experience makes him an excellent fit for BABCP, as we navigate our next strategic phase."
Tommy McIlravey says: "I am delighted to be joining BABCP at a truly exciting point in the development of the organisation. I look forward to championing Cognitive Behavioural Therapies and high-quality delivery, while continuing the great work of the association in engaging and raising awareness amongst the wider public. I also look forward to meeting many of you over the coming weeks and months, and building a shared vision of the future of CBT, and related practices, in the UK and Ireland."
