Supervisor Accreditation and Reaccreditation CPD

Supervisor Accreditation - you should provide evidence of at least one CBT-specific supervisory CPD activity per year for the two years prior to application.

Supervisor Reaccreditation - you should continue to do at least one piece of CBT supervisory CPD per year.

In both cases, you can include one of these per year within the five practitioner CPD activities for Reaccreditation, however, it must count as your one permitted non-CBT activity.

Reflective Statements are required for each activity in Supervisor Accreditation and if selected for Random Accreditation Audit.

Supervisory CPD Activities

There are many activities you can do to show sustained commitment to development as a CBT Supervisor. They must be specifically related to CBT supervision. Activities might include:

  • attendance at workshop
  • courses relating to CBT Supervisory Practice and skill
  • attendance at conferences and seminars relating to CBT Supervisory Practice
  • involvement in relevant research
  • relevant publications by you
  • reading relevant books and journals etc.
  • involvement with the BABCP Supervision Special Interest Group
  • relevant media involvement
  • hours spent developing CBT Supervision services - count once only.

You can't count giving CBT Supervision and having Supervisory Supervision as CPD.
