Band: 8 (Permanent 0.8 – 1.0 WTE )

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical manager to lead two of the three Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in Hounslow. Applications are welcome from candidates seeking part-time or full-time hours between 0.8-1.0 WTE.

We would like to hear from confident CAMHS professionals with significant experience of day to day operational leadership, and offering supervision and line management to clinicians.

It is essential you hold a relevant clinical qualification and have previous experience of working in a specialist or early help CAMHS team; experience of working in an educational setting would be a bonus. You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality and responsive CAMHS service, including implementation and review of systems, policies, standards and procedures within frameworks agreed by the Trust, partner agencies and commissioners.

It will be a challenging, but rewarding role and we believe it will provide a talented and ambitious manager with real scope to develop and influence practice. If you are interested in partnership working (notably with schools) and want to help shape new models of evidence-based support to promote the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, this job could be for you!

You will be joining a dynamic and rapidly growing new workforce in West London NHS Trust Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Mental Health Support Teams are part of a service transformation programme delivered by Health Education England and partners; Hounslow was one of the initial trailblazing sites and has had Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs and EWPs) working in schools for over two years with great success.

Hundreds of children and young people have accessed guided self- help and group work support, with very encouraging feedback and clinical outcomes. The community served is multi-ethnic and culturally diverse and we welcome applicants who are skilled at working with the richness of this multicultural context.

This is a specialist mental health practitioner post, but the successful applicant will be supported to maintain their professional registration and will have access to support/supervision from colleagues from within their discipline, if applicable. We offer high quality supervision, with excellent CPD and career development opportunities.

In response to the Government advice relating to the Covid-19 pandemic, our MHST staff are fully supported to work remotely.

This is subject to regular review, in line with local and national guidance. All new employees will be provided with the necessary training and equipment to work from home and we have put in place additional measures to support new employees during this period.
