Psychological Therapist (Cognitive Behavioural Therapist)

Band 7

Part Time: 22.5 hours p/w

Permanent contract

Closing date: 20.05.22

Future Focus is an innovative new service at the forefront of ‘At Risk Mental State’ treatments in Early Intervention (EI) Team. We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychological Therapist to join our team a fixed term and be part of this cutting edge, top performing team!

We would welcome and support those considering moving to the Bradford area with a relocation package; this includes contributions to accommodation and travel depending on distance and hours of contract.

Future Focus works with people between 14-35 years old who may be ‘at risk’ of developing psychosis due to past trauma, adverse life events, and/or a family history of mental health difficulties. At Future Focus we work with a range of presentations such as common mental health problems, mild symptoms of psychosis, and trauma. This post is a great opportunity to develop skills and knowledge of secondary care presentations, pathways, and services in the context of robust supervision and staff support networks.

You will be responsible for delivering Psychological Interventions – primarily CBT – alongside offering consultation and formulation to our EI Assessment Hub. You will work closely with your own supervisor and the Future Focus Team to ensure a MDT approach is maintained with all Service Users, and you are supported with your cases.

Future Focus is committed to delivering high quality, meaningful, and culturally adapted support to the communities of Bradford. We have a Community Development Strategy in which we work with local services, faith centres, and charities to deliver awareness and support to the families of those experiencing psychosis. You will have the opportunity to work with the team on service development projects and community development and engagement strategies.

About us

Future Focus Team sits within Bradford Early Intervention Team and is part of the national ‘At Risk Mental State’ initiative.

We are one of the top performing services for Early Intervention in the UK. We have an excellent professional and clinical supervision system with further opportunities for development. We have very supportive and inclusive work environments.

About you

We are looking for a motived and reflective practitioner with a passion for working flexibly within the communities of Bradford. We welcome CBT practitioners nearing the end of their qualification – this is a great opportunity to broaden existing skills in CBT.

In our efforts to develop a representative workforce, we would like to encourage applications from individuals of a Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background who may be representative of the diverse community in Bradford.
