Health in Mind is an innovative and exciting service provided by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The service provides primary care level, mental health & wellbeing interventions to people with common mental health problems across East Sussex. Each area has a Step 2 and Step 3 IAPT team as well as a team of Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners.

We’re looking for a Senior Psychological Therapist to be the CBT Lead for the expanding East Area (Hastings & Rother) Team of Health in Mind. You’ll be working closely with another senior psychological therapist and the 8B Senior Clinical Locality Lead to provide clinical practice as well as supervision and leadership to qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and trainees on the IAPT high intensity training course.

You’ll have joint responsibility for the governance arrangements of the IAPT therapies in the Hastings and Rother locality and oversee assessment, formulation and interventions based on highly specialist knowledge of IAPT therapies. You’ll also lead and offer supervision to staff delivering IAPT interventions and provide highly specialist consultation and advice on clients’ psychological care as well as working autonomously within professional guidelines.

Line management responsibilities in conjunction with clinical and operational leads are pivotal as well as having an active role in the wider Health in Mind leadership team.

We receive referrals through a number of routes including self-referrals and those by General Practitioners. We work closely with our Service-User Steering Group to refine and improve the service we offer to meet the needs of a geographically dispersed client group. Furthermore, we place emphasis on staff wellbeing and participation and have a dedicated Staff Wellbeing Champions Team working in close cooperation with a highly committed and friendly leadership and staff team.

From the popular seaside destinations of Bexhill, Hastings and Eastbourne, to the culture-rich historic towns of Lewes and Battle and the sweeping countryside locations within rural Rother and Wealden, East Sussex has so much to offer. As a result, Health in Mind will provide you with diverse and interesting opportunities to gain experience in a variety of settings and environments.

Please note Remote working will be considered and reviewed after 12 months. If the successful applicant expresses a wish to work remotely then the expectations of when they may need to come on site e.g. training, IT issues, Occupational Health appointments will be clearly laid out and this arrangement will be reviewed periodically.
