CBT Therapist

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is very pleased to be expanding our provision of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. With bases in Yeovil, Taunton and Minehead, we are inviting applications from BABCP accredited CBT therapists to add to our provision of CBT. You will be joining a vibrant team of psychologists and psychological therapists including fellow CBT therapists, CAT therapists, an Art therapist and Family Therapist.

The successful candidate will offer a specialist CBT assessment and therapy service for individuals some or all of whom have severe and enduring mental health problems and may present with complex and challenging psychological problems. You will have the potential to provide or contribute to specialist group CBT or psycho-educational groups if required. The role will also include patient-based CBT consultancy and advice to staff, including those working with challenging and complex clients, and there will be opportunities to contribute to the development and delivery of appropriate training courses if required.

This is a great opportunity to join a well established network of psychological therapists and psychologists integrated with wider community mental health services, and with chances for further training and development.

We also have posts available in locations within Somerset so please contact if you are interested either in this or other posts. We would consider both full or part time (minimum 3 days) contracts.

Working for our organisation

This is an exciting time to join our Trust which has recently been voted HSJ Mental Health Trust of the Year. You would be joining a growing Specialist Psychological Interventions Service as we expand our provision of psychological therapy and develop additional roles to ensure we continue to provide excellent mental health care in a modern and evidence-based service.

The Trust has strong links to the University of Exeter and the HEE funded post qualification trainings in CBT for psychosis and CBT for Personality Disorder.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone’s throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London – there is truly something for everyone!
