High Intensity CBT Therapists and Long Term Health Conditions Psychological Therapists

At Newham Talking Therapies we aim to ensure that we deliver the care and treatment that we would want for our loved ones. To meet this aim we are looking for practitioners who are passionate about delivering effective and responsive therapies.

We can only provide residents the tools to change their lives by having effective staff! Newham Talking Therapies can offer help you develop and cultivate your clinical therapy approaches. Newham is a wonderfully diverse borough that offers practitioners so much wealth in terms of learning from our residents. If you are looking to widen your therapy experience, gain expertise or to have opportunities to progress clinically or within management areas, NTT could be the place for you!

So who are we?

We are where IAPT begun! Newham Talking Therapies was the first NHS IAPT pilot site which from our service led to the national role of IAPT, one of the world’s largest mental health projects. We are also one of the longest running and clinically effective IAPT services in the country.

We are committed to the progression of our team members and our posts are formulated to allow for development of clinical expertise in chosen clinical areas. As well as offering a range of therapies, the service also runs as a training centre, therefore offering opportunities for supervision and training. NTT prides ourselves on being innovators in best practice and a service that is always looking to enhance our provision to our residents. Over the last year our clinicians have published several clinical publications and we have assisted other IAPT services to clinically navigate the pandemic. This year we were also nominated for several awards including a Parliamentary award for Excellence in Mental Health Care.

Who are we looking for?

We are aiming to recruit High Intensity CBT Therapists and Long Term Health Conditions Psychological Therapists.

You will work alongside professionals from various clinical approaches trained in modalities such as guided self-help, EMDR, systemic, IPT, DIT, CfD, integrative, behavioural couples therapies and more. We also have a dedicated team working with physical health related problems and long-term conditions; this offers many opportunities to work within other internal teams.

You would also hold a small caseload of face-to-face clients and offer the majority of your clinical work via video and telephone. Currently our staff are attending our clinical buildings one day a week and then working the rest of the week at home, this would be continually reviewed in line with our clinical demands. We believe this would provide clinicians options to maintain their face-to-face delivery and continue to have the benefits of home working. We also have a wonderful and highly acclaimed group therapies provision and we would help you develop your group psychotherapy clinical skills. You would work with a wide range of clinical presentations, have regular effective supervision and offer you clients up to twelve therapy sessions.
