Lay Member

This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity to be involved in processes related to the professional conduct and ethics of CBT therapists, maintenance and enhancement of therapy standards and the protection of the public.

All applicants must have a commitment to improving patient experience and ensuring high standards for provision of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK and Ireland.

Lived Experience Advisor

This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity to be involved in setting standards of practice for CBT therapists and maintaining safe and ethical practice.

All applicants must have a commitment to improving the experience of people who use mental health services and CBT.

Lived Experience Advisors can receive an involvement payment of £150 per day/£75 per half day plus reimbursement of reasonable expenses. Reimbursement will include half a day of reading time before the meeting. The Lived Experience Advisor will be paid on a sessional basis (i.e. for time spent) and will not have a contract of employment with the BABCP.
