CBT Therapists in Higher Education often seem thrown by the new population they work with as well as the restrictions many find themselves in. This event aims to help attendees reflect on their core practise of CBT, to remind themselves on the core competencies and evidence base of their work to ensure they are confident in the delivery of CBT within HE. Also to consider the frameworks they work within and ensure they are able to ask themselves the correct questions to maintain evidence based CBT delivery.
Learning Outcomes
To be able to reflect and understand which Students may benefit from a shorter term model and those which require a longer amount of sessions.
To also be able to reflect on practise and feel confident in the delivery of a shorter term model (6-8 sessions) when this is appropriate.
Target Audience
Experienced CBT Therapists in HE (i.e. not recent graduates due to a need for a period of experience in their foundation training)CPD
Attendees will be issued a CPD Certificate for 2 hours
Jessica Davies is a BABCP accredited CBT Therapist currently working as the Course Director for the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Programme at the University of East Anglia as well as a CBT Therapist in private practise. Jessica completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge before studying as a PWP and then as a CBT Therapist at the Institute of Psychiatry. Jessica has a wealth of experience in both IAPT and Higher Education as first a CBT Therapist and now a Course Director and Lecturer.
