A Hard Rain: Reflective CBT Supervision in Difficult Moments and Times

About the event

This is an online, participative event on the Zoom meeting platform, organised by the Supervision Special Interest Group.  The event will not be recorded.

A certificate of attendance will be issued for 3 x hours CPD.

This event will promote reflective discussion of the interpersonal dimensions of CBT supervision concerning difficult therapeutic issues and concerning CBT in times of difficulty, such as the coronavirus pandemic. The workshop event will include discussion and skill practice in break-out time.

Aims and Objectives

1. To explore the interpersonal aspects of CBT supervision against a framework of CBT theory.

2. To offer participants the chance to reflect on their own experience of supervision - received and given - from an interpersonal perspective.

3. To offer participants the chance to practice interpersonal supervision skills in small break-out exercises

Learning Outcomes

1. Participants will enhance their interpersonal understanding of CBT supervision.

2. Participants will learn and practice interpersonal skills in relation to CBT supervision.

About the presenter(s)

Dr Frank Wills has been practising CBT since 1983 and now feels that "he has almost got the hang of it" - allegedly!

He has worked as a therapist, teacher, examiner, trainer, supervisor and researcher and has co-authored and authored a number of well-known CBT books, most recently 'Beck's Cognitive Therapy' 2nd Ed., Routledge (2021, In Press)
