Synopsis
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Insomnia (ACT-I) is an alternative treatment approach to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) that CBT therapists can use to treat clients with insomnia. This webinar will focus on ACT-I and its use as a novel treatment for chronic insomnia.
The webinar will provide an introduction to chronic insomnia, including its development, and its relationship with mental and physical health. It will demonstrate how ACT-I differs from conventional CBT-I methods and how it can be used. The webinar will compare ACT-I and CBT-I approaches and will explore ACT-I skills, including acceptance, mindfulness, defusion, values and committed action.
