Synopsis
This workshop will help clinicians to better understand the links between psychological trauma and functional neurological disorder (FND). Many of the skills incorporated in a CBT framework can be effectively applied to the treatment of individuals with FND. The workshop will provide guidance on how to work with patients who have this condition, and how to apply theoretical knowledge to individual patients. Furthermore, it will cover the role of a community neuro-rehab team (CNRT) psychologist when working with functional neurological disorder. The workshop will include case presentations to support your understanding of how the skills are used in practice, as well as small group exercises around therapy adaptations. Additionally, there will be opportunities for reflection and feedback to further enhance your learning experience. This workshop is suitable for CBT Practitioners and Wellbeing Practitioners who have experience working with people with long-term and/or neurological conditions.
We look forward to welcoming you to the workshop and helping you develop the skills and strategies you need to manage FND effectively.
