BABCP is the lead organisation for CBT in the UK and Ireland. We have more than 20,000 members - including nurses, counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists and other health professionals as well as students and trainees.

Joining BABCP makes you part of a CBT community and the lead organisation for promoting the advancement of CBT.

Membership

  • Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. 
  • There are different fee rates available but all membership has the same status. 
  • All members have to sign up to the BABCP Conduct of Standards, Performance and Ethics.
  • Only those Accredited by BABCP as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist / Trainer / Clinical Supervisor, Evidence Based Parent Trainer or a Registered Wellbeing Practitioner are able to promote their BABCP Membership and will appear on the CBT Register. These require an additional application to demonstrate how the Minimum Training Standards have been met.

Student Rate Membership

If you are a student, you can enjoy all the benefits of BABCP membership at a reduced rate. Journal access is online rather than as a physical copy.

Associate Rate Membership

This is aimed at retired CBT practitioners and applicants from developing countries. 

Reduced Rate Membership

A reduced rate is available to members not in receipt of income or earning below £24,214 per annum. Further details on eligibility and evidence required are included on the reduced rate application form.
